With the huge success of our 8-string instruments over the past few years, we thought a more traditional body style would be a welcome addition to the MRG Studio line. Many have been asking for an electric Mando like this, so the simple progression was to borrow from our very popular guitar "The Cosey", which is a 6 string guitar based on a mandolin body.

Semi-hollow (tone-chambered) body gives this model more depth and resonance. What's more, we've set the G, D, and A strings up as octave pairs to impart a fuller sound that truly sparkles. What we end up with is a fantastic new 23" scale Octave Mando!

*NOTE* The default tuning of the Octave Mando is GDAE, an octave lower than a traditional mandolin and with the G,D, and A strings as octave pairs. This demo video showcases the instrument tuned a fifth higher, in CGDA. If you'd like yours tuned this way before we ship, just ask!
