MRG MandoTenor Electric Doubleneck
Story
The MRG Mando-Tenor Doubleneck started, like many good ideas, as a slightly unhinged “what if.” What if you didn’t have to choose between the sparkle of a mandolin and the punch of a tenor guitar? What if both lived on the same instrument, ready to go at a moment’s notice?
We’ve long loved both sides of that equation. The mandolin brings speed, chime, and that unmistakable jangle, while the tenor guitar delivers warmth, drive, and a bit more muscle. Players often bounce between the two… so we figured, why not stop bouncing?
The result is a beautifully oddball creation that somehow makes perfect sense the moment you pick it up. Switch necks mid-song, layer parts live, or just enjoy the raised eyebrows when people realize what they’re looking at. It’s equal parts practical tool and conversation starter.
Of course, it’s still very much an MRG at heart—offset attitude, comfortable feel, and built to be played, not just admired. Twice the necks, twice the inspiration… and at least twice the fun!
